Overseas Clothing Manufacturers, Fully Managed for You

Most brands don't fail at overseas clothing manufacturing because the factories are bad. They fail because nobody's managing the process between "we found a factory" and "the order actually shipped correctly." Cavela produces apparel for brands manufacturing overseas, working with vetted overseas clothing manufacturers across our global factory network, spanning nine countries — China, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Mexico, Turkey, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Egypt — covering everything from custom clothing manufacturers building a first sample run to bulk clothing suppliers producing at scale.

How it works

Our Overseas Clothing Manufacturing Process

Design & Spec Review

1

We start with your design, fit references, and performance requirements (compression level, stretch recovery, moisture-wicking needs), and translate them into specs activewear manufacturers can quote accurately.

Factory Matching

2

We match your product to factories within our vetted global network, including hubs in China, Pakistan, Mexico, and Portugal, that specialize in performance fabrics and technical construction, not general apparel cut-and-sew.

Fabric Sourcing

3

We manage first-round samples and fit revisions, paying close attention to stretch recovery and seam stress points, since sample fabric often behaves differently from bulk fabric rolls.

Sample Development & Revisions

4

Once your sample is approved, we provide clear, all-in pricing for your target order size, with no surprise costs once production starts.

Transparent Quoting & Negotiation

5

We oversee bulk production with onsite quality inspections at key checkpoints, checking stitch density, panel alignment, and stretch consistency across the run, not just a final spot-check.

Production & Onsite Quality Checks

6

We handle freight forwarding and customs to get finished goods to your warehouse, and we stay involved for reorders, which move faster once your supplier relationship is established.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100; GOTS for organic fiber products; CPSIA for children's apparel; factory social compliance audits on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

LEt Us Answer all your questions

Is it actually cheaper to use overseas clothing manufacturers than domestic ones?

In most cases, yes, particularly for labor-intensive construction and at moderate-to-high order volumes, though the savings depend heavily on garment complexity and the specific country. The bigger risk with overseas manufacturing has always been management overhead and quality oversight at a distance, which is the specific gap we exist to close, rather than a reason to avoid overseas production altogether.

Can overseas clothing manufacturers replicate an existing garment I already have?

Yes, this is a common starting point, particularly for brands without a finished tech pack yet. We can work from a physical reference garment to develop a pattern and spec sheet, though we'd always recommend confirming the original garment isn't protected by a design patent or trademark before replicating it commercially at scale.

Do I need to choose one country for all my apparel production, or can I split it across multiple?

You can absolutely split production across countries based on what each garment needs. A brand might produce basics in one country known for cost-efficient cut-and-sew and technical outerwear in another known for specialized fabric and construction capability. We help you figure out the right country and factory match per product rather than forcing every item through a single regional pipeline.

How do I find bulk clothing suppliers without committing to a huge minimum order?

Many factories that primarily serve bulk clothing suppliers will still accommodate smaller test orders, sometimes at a higher per-unit cost, specifically to build a relationship with a growing brand they expect to scale with over time. We can identify which factories in our network are willing to flex on minimums for your specific product, fabric, and order history.

What happens if a sample from an overseas clothing manufacturer doesn't match what I expected?

Sample revision rounds are a normal part of the process, not a sign something's gone wrong. The fit, fabric hand, and finishing details often need one or two rounds of adjustment before they're production-ready. We manage that revision process directly with the factory, translating your feedback into the specific pattern or construction changes needed on their end.
